"Once More, with FEELING!"
We have a vocabulary of movements that we are proud to have learned, that we execute well and that look fabulous on us. Now what?

Now we take it to the next level…
We add a little piece of our soul to them, bring them to life, ignite a spark in your audience, leave them with chills, and make them beg for more! We will explore tips, drills and exercises to layer emotion, charisma and personality over your own unique vocabulary. Command the attention of a hundred different people all doing a hundred different things-learn to make the world stop and pay attention. This class is excellent for new dancers, seasoned dancers and performers working in restaurants, night-clubs and of course, all those festivals we seem to do.

Topics covered in this workshop will benefit your Tribal Fusion, Gothic, Theatrical and Plain Ol' Bellydance repertoires.

"Adventures In Steampunk!"
Steampunk is considered by many to be a subdivision of the Gothic Culture, or it's crazy next-door neighbor - regardless, it's an exciting and inspiring genre, blending Neo-Victorian, Science Fiction, and Fantasy that offers a lot of opportunity in the realm of bellydance fusion. But it's not just about having the look, but capturing the feel and quality of Steampunk in your movement and presentation. Students will explore several scenarios/personas through mini-choreographies infused with the essence of Steampunk, while learning about concept, music, and fashion behind this genre as well.

(brand new workshop! be part of a great experiment, that's the steampunk way!)

About Your Instructor:

Based now in New Jersey, just near the end of the world, Tempest pulls from her visual arts background (BFA from RISD), literary tendencies, and global inspirations to create dance that crosses the boundaries of time and culture. Tempest began her journey into dance in 2000, and has traveled the country to study traditional, folkloric, and fusion forms of bellydance. She is the premiere instructor of Gothic Bellydance in North America, and her extensive work in the genre has helped to define and develop the movement across the world. Her compelling performances exemplify her distinctively theatrical and expressionate style, and are rooted in oriental dance technique with a transcendent approach. Her costume designs have revolutionized the look of modern bellydance, and continue to inspire new and old generations of dancers alike.
